Shopping Safely together: the steps we’re taking to create a safe and healthy experience at the Emporium.

The health and well-being of all our customers and employees, as well as their families and friends, is our utmost priority in these challenging times.

In light of the global outbreak of COVID-19 we have implemented a COVID-19 Safety Plan. We have outlined some steps of this plan below, there are further internal steps relevant to staff.

Hand Hygiene: Hand sanitiser is available at both points of entry for customers to use upon entry. Hand sanitizer is also available in the change rooms and near the shoe department. Upon opening and closing the store along with throughout the day employees are checking the level of the sanitiser to ensure it remains topped up. Staff have access to hand-washing facilities and are frequently washing their hands throughout the day, staff can direct you to the nearest hand-washing facility if you ask.

Physical Distancing: The shop floor space is 250 square metres meaning Emporium Bellingen can comfortably accommodate 60 customers and employees at any given time. As a condition of entry it is expected that all customers and staff will follow Australian Government directives concerning physical distancing, by maintaining at least 1.5 metres distance from other customers and staff.

Face Masks: Face masks are not a condition of entry for the Emporium, but we of course encourage you to follow guidance from the Australian Government concerning their use. Our staff may or may not be wearing masks according to their personal wishes, we ask that you respect this.

Point of Sale: At this time Emporium Bellingen is still accepting cash payments, however most customers are preferring to pay with card. Staff have been directed to sanitise the EFTPOS and counter regularly including spraying down the cash drawer with appropriate disinfectant spray.

Click and Collect: We have a limited selection of our in-store range in our online store where click and collect is an option. Customers have always been welcomed to place phone orders which can then be posted or picked up. We are very happy to send pictures of items and answer questions concerning stock that hasn’t made it into our online store, please contact us on 0411817684.

Change-rooms: what was previously a 2 change-room space has been turned into 1 larger space to limit the exposure of customers in a small space in such close proximity to another.

Cleaning of Items tried on by customers: Commencing August 2020 clothing items that have been tried on but not purchased will be set aside until such time as a team member can steam clean the garment using a professional grade steamer (Propress) and return to stock for sale. For this reason we ask that you only select items of clothing to try on that you have a strong interest in.

Returned goods: Returned goods are being placed in isolation for a period of 72 hours before being returned into stock for sale. Emporium Bellingen has invested in a professional steamer and all items of clothing returned will be steam cleaned to a high standard prior to being placed back on the shelf for sale.

COVIDsafe APP: Emporium Bellingen has a dedicated shop mobile has had the COVIDsafe app added as a central safe point for the store.
